Install of Abiword

Hi!
Hope you can help me. I recently performed a complete (according to
itself) upgrade of gnome via the gnome-upgrade.sh. It seems successful,
and I have reinstalled several applications I have had before.
However, I have been trying, unsuccessfully so far, to install Abiword.
Before, it seemed to be borking at the outdated stuff. But now, the make
install returned the following:
===> Vulnerability check disabled, database not found
=> Checksum OK for AbiWord/abiword-2.2.7.tar.bz2.
===> Patching for abiword-2.2.7
===> Applying FreeBSD patches for abiword-2.2.7
===> abiword-2.2.7 depends on executable: unzip - found
===> abiword-2.2.7 depends on executable: gmake - found
===> abiword-2.2.7 depends on file: /usr/local/bin/intltool-extract -
found
===> abiword-2.2.7 depends on executable: pkg-config - found
===> abiword-2.2.7 depends on shared library: popt.0 - found
===> abiword-2.2.7 depends on shared library: png.5 - found
===> abiword-2.2.7 depends on shared library: wv-1.0.0 - found
===> abiword-2.2.7 depends on shared library: fribidi.0 - found
===> abiword-2.2.7 depends on shared library: enchant.2 - not found
===> Verifying install for enchant.2 in /usr/ports/textproc/enchant
===> Returning to build of abiword-2.2.7
Error: shared library "enchant.2" does not exist
*** Error code 1
Stop in /usr/ports/editors/abiword.

Seems a bit contradictory, saying it had found "enchant" but then saying
that the shared library "enchant.2 does not exist. And looking through
ports, I see textproc/enchant, but the version is 1.1.5_1 -- is that what
I need? If so, why did it not simply install it? Or is there a way to
get a more recent version? I run FreeBSD 5.3.
Hope you can help.
Blessings,
Rev. Gordon Gilbert+
