Sorry for distracting you on the LUNs.

The manual for HP StorageWorks MSL5000 and MSL6000 Series Tape Libraries
clearly states the drives are individual SCSI targets.

Apparently (see page 199 in the PDF) there is no internal SCSI wiring,
you need to add all SCSI wires by yourself - i. e. drives must be
daisy-chained to the library controller.

Can you see the drive if you move the SCSI cable and terminator from
library to drive, or if you daisy-chain things?
