I tried 12.0-RC3 on my G5 (7,2 dual core) and saw some i2c errors but my fans worked correctly.
I then tried Ubuntu 16.04 LTS without any trouble and the latest Gentoo and initially my kernel didn’t have windfarm support but after adding it, the fans are working correctly with Gentoo as well.
I had trouble with FreeBSD 12.0-RC3 USB ports when I plugged in the Apple 23” Cinema Display USB hub with the keyboard attached. The keyboard wouldn’t work. But when I plugged an Apple USB keyboard directly into one of the PowerMac rear USB ports, I didn’t have any trouble.
