Personally think be best to keep opencv as 3.x and make a new opencv4.
Reason I think this, is by the wording in the URL, seems 3.x will be supported,
atleast as bugfixes and light features. 4.x series needs c++11 compiler, which
will affect archs that doesn't have one, such as mips*
