They install & run on FreeBSD-8.2-RELEASE, I viwed a .pps OK,
I fed it a file i got from a private part of http://www.companieshouse.co.uk
which file reports as:
	PDF document, version 1.7

Half off remit re PDF 1.7:
Does anyone happen to know if it's worth pursuing build of a
newer openoffice or libreoffice if they might be able to edit (yes
edit, not just display) a 1.7 PDF (with embedded editable numbers
eg for a UK goverment tax return), or maybe only the latest adobe
acrobat on a linux emulator might handle a 1.7 PDF
( Yes, I too thought PDF meant Printable Document File, but it
seems 1.7 as used by UK governemnt allows data to collected into
forms or some such too. )

Cheers,
Julian
