Are you sure you have the latest openssl?
Type:
ls /var/db/pkg | grep openssl
You need to pkg_add the package before you'll be able to see the icons.
If you have an older version of openssl, you can pkg_add -f OOo_1.9m96_FreeBSD54Intel_install_en-US.tbz
to force it to install with the older openssl version.
