cups and keyboard layout

hello all together,
I have two question on you.
If read all the manpages and und docu about cups.
Ok but I will tell you what I have done.
first I installed FBSD newly version 5.1 from the Inet. I installed 
samba und cups. Now I want to install and configure my HP Deskjet 
550C,but I don't know how I can do this, all trials failed. Can anybody 
give my a step by step discription about how I can install my printer 
with cups in FBSD. This would be very nice, thanks a lot.

Ok and secound problem I have, I'm from germany. And I've already 
installed german keyboard layout, but my fbsd wouldn't display äöü and I 
cannot insert them about keyboard, have anybody an idea what I can do?
