I am also in the process of finishing (hopefully) a long patch for the
'firewalls' chapter that attempts to fix some of these inconsistencies
(and many others). While it is not exactly at review state yet,  here is
what I got right now:

I originally missed this PR,  but I could have a look at the submitted
text and integrate it with this patch, if appropriate.
