GCC 4.1/gfortran 4.1 on FreeBSD 6/AMD64?

When I've attempted recently, I was unable to build gcc40 nor gcc42
ports on my RELENG_6 amd64 box. I resorted to adding binary packages
from ftp.
I can provide you with the build transcripts if you're interested.
