FreeBSD 5.3 installation on Asus K8V-D impossible?

I'm getting the same type of problems but on my MSI K8N Platinum, 
nForce4 based board.  I realize nForce was a no, no.  I've tried the 
snapshot at that location as well as the 6-current snapshot dated 02-09.
