gdb howto?

   Hi!

   I've tried to compile multiple different versions of gdb (cvs snapshot,
   checked out from cvs, ...) but none of the compiled since most of them
   already complaint about amd64-unknown-freebsd5.2.1.

Please try to configure with 

   --target=x86_64-unknown-freebsd5.2.1

This should work with GDB 6.0 and beyond, including snapshots and a
freshly checked out CVS tree.
