AHA2842 and Debian 2.0 kernal problems

Try other versions of the aic7xxx driver (i.e. different kernels). Debian
ships with 2.0.34 (aic7xxx 5.0.14).

readme.txt on the rescue disk and a small section in install.{txt,html}
describe how to replace the kernel on the rescue disk.

You might want to try the boot disk mentionned below.

I finally could install a Debian 2.0 Linux system on an ASUS P2B-DS
board (UltraWide disk). I rebuilt the Debian boot disks with support
for the 7890 chip. You can find them in

I haven't.  I used the Debian 2.0 boot disk, and changed the kernelon it
to one I used on bo.  That's another recourse for you.  It's at:
