Hi everybody,
I've got a problem with my Adaptec 2940 AU that I've been trying to fix since
about a year now. It's been the same with Linux-Versions 2.0.30 - 2.0.35, different
disks, two controllers (of the same kind), new cables and about any adapter setting
that is possible (with or without reconnection, synchronous mode, reduced speed
etc.))
Currently I'm using a Quantum Fireball 3210 S disk and Linux 2.0.35.
At times when the disk is heavily used, I get a queue full message which leeds to
a reset of the scsi-bus.
If this happens during backup to a tape (HP SCSI DAT Streamer) it leeds to a system
crash or sometimes just to errors which are detected when verifying the tape.
The strange thing is, that any change of settings does not seem to have any effect.
Using an old AHA 1502 controller everything works fine (but slower).
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
