[Bug 283778] sysutils/xfce4-power-manager: remove annoying screen lock fail message
Date: Wed, 01 Jan 2025 22:31:21 UTC
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=283778 --- Comment #4 from Guido Falsi <madpilot@FreeBSD.org> --- The issue you are experiencing looks like a configuration issue to me. You should investigate why it is happening. DO you have a properly configured screen saver able to lock the screen? (for example xfce4-screensaver, which should actually work) Have you tried in a clean setup (for example by creating a new user and logging in as that with a brand new xfce configuration)? This could help identify what is going wrong. I also notice the links you sent provide various possible solutions have you tried those? Your patch is simply removing upstream code working as intended, and, as you already state, removing a reasonable check and informative message that other users could find useful, for example to identify misconfigured systems. I'm sorry but I cannot accept such an hack in the tree to impose to all users, when they could find the check useful. I suggest you try to work with upstream to have this fixed, after having thoroughly checked your configuration. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
