https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=281600 Alfredo Dal'Ava Junior <alfredo@freebsd.org> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|In Progress |Open --- Comment #21 from Alfredo Dal'Ava Junior <alfredo@freebsd.org> --- (In reply to Jessica Clarke from comment #20) I used to agree but I changed my mind while trying to make powerpc* userland usable. I realized that it would be a waste of time fixing an undetermined number of packages, maintaining the patches and so while waiting them to get accepted by upstream. In my experience, upstream wouldn't care much about updating because they don't see any benefit on changing something that's working for a long time just because of new Tier 2 platform. I see riscv would be more appealing than powerpc* at this point but someone at FreeBSD side should work with affected projects to get interfaces updated. In any case, I assume old interfaces are supported: amd64 keeps COMPAT_FREEBSD[4-14] (except 8, for some reason) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
