https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=280597 Bug ID: 280597 Summary: bootloader does not load OS when screen resolution is 5k or higher Product: Base System Version: 14.1-STABLE Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Some People Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: spock@sarahspock.com When the default resolution is 5k or higher, the bootloader will not load the OS, and will restart the computer. This occurs on the install disc and after installation. The bootloader will load the os if you use option: gop set 2 to manually lower the resolution. - This behavior was able to be replicated in qemu by setting the resolution to 8k - This was found when using a Lenovo Thinkvision P40w-20 monitor with WUHD (5120 x 2160) resolution - Nvidia graphics card A1000 , but most likely able to replicate so long as the resolution is above 4k, as someone else was able to replicate this in qemu that does not have this graphics card. I suspect this is a serious issue because we might start seeing more monitors over 4k in the wild. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
