FYI, Xorg server beeps via xf86OSRingBell(), i.e., https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/blob/master/hw/xfree86/os-support/bsd/bsd_bell.c#L61 IOW, if console cannot beep, xterm does not beep.
