Some Questions about the state of the project

Hello All:
I'm sorry if this is a newbie question, but I've been subscribed to
the list for a short while and haven't found a way of searching old
postings. I'd like to ask about the status of this project and whether
the design and implementation are finalized or not. I've got some students
who are working with me on intrusion detection, and we may want to be
able to acquire security audit trail sorts of information from the
FreeBSD kernel concerning what kinds of system calls are being made,
and by what processes/users. Are there any articles/writeups that
we should take a look at, and if there is still some flexibility in
the design and implementation phase, would we be able to get some help
to get up to speed and contribute to the project?
Thanks:
Bill Maniatty
