Besides using the repository not intended for the work, there is IMO a bigger
issue with ports work going into src repo. If you look at the Cc: list
of the conversation, which is unmodified from the original distribution
list, you would note that this group of subscribers is probably a least
interested in the changes for ports in progress work. You do want to
get a useful feedback by putting the work into public repository, right ?
BTW, I do not see a reason why you cannot branch a single port in CVS
repository.
