Eh, you are right about which variable to use, but it did work for me
(with CPPFLAGS):
cc -fpic -DPIC -O2 -pipe -fstack-protector -fno-strict-aliasing
-fno-omit-frame-pointer -std=gnu99 -fstack-protector
-Qunused-arguments -c stacktraverse.c -o stacktraverse.
I'll fix this anyways.
