Hello,

I would like to know which extensions the different OSes have implemented for
backing up / restoring the data of the Posix.1e security extensions. Are there
any design / format extensions / implementations available?

What I've found so far:

SGI B1 Sample Source Code at <http://oss.sgi.com/projects/ob1/>:
----------------------------------------------------------------
Includes MAC extensions for tar. Uses a so-called phantom file that contain the
MAC data, followed by the real file. Other data (non-MAC) not covered.

HPUX (?)
--------
Seems to support ACL backup for tar.

Trused Solaris (?)
------------------
Seems to support ACL backup for tar.

Which other OSes include support for POSIX.1e backup? Where are the design
documents? Which formats are used?

Thanks,
Andreas
