Only if one wants to use that. If it strictly requires GIR and the other ports
are compiled without GIR it will fail to build. This is how the ports system
work. There is no provision in the ports infrastructure to avoid this. Anything
that we put in place would be an hack.

Anyway I can add some check that marks the port BROKEN in such a case.
