Bugzilla Automation <bugzilla at FreeBSD.org> has asked freebsd-xfce mailing list
<xfce at FreeBSD.org> for maintainer-feedback:
Bug 244397: x11-wm/xfce4 Mouse and Touchpad settings with UDEV xorg-server
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=244397

--- Description ---
Hi,

since upgrade to xorg-server to 1.20.7,1 on my 12.1-RELEASE-p2 x64, it seems
that XFCE's Mouse and Touchpad settings don't affect my Synpatics touchpad
behaviour (no xf86-input-synaptics installed). I noticed it because my pointer
quit accelerating after upgrade, and it wouldn't accelerate no matter what I
set in Mouse and Touchpad settings.

I found out that, in order to be able to set touchpad properties, I need to set
`sysctl kern.evdev.rcpt_ask=6' (as mentioned in xorg-server's pkg-message), and
manipulate device properties with xinput, as instructed here:

https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/mouse-aceleration-with-xorg-udev.74159/

It would be nice to get the ability to set most important mouse properties from
Mouse and Touchpad settings back.

Regards,
