I can confirm that the mesa-update and DRI3-Flag works here for this setup:

- Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5300U CPU (HD Graphics 5500)
- FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE-p2
- drm-fbsd12.0-kmod-4.16.g20200221
- mesa-dri-19.0.8
- mesa-libs-19.0.8
- xorg-server 1.20.7_1,1 FIXDRM : off
- .login_conf setting :setenv=LIBGL_DRI3_ENABLE=1:
- using modesetting-driver (xf86-video-intel not even installed)
