There's a deep integration between the video drivers and the virtual
memory manager. FreeBSD 8.x doesn't provide the necessary features to
support any video driver.

For FreeBSD 9.3, we will experiment with the i915 driver provided as a
port. This would fill the gap required to have Mesa 10.x and xserver 1.15.

Depending on how this goes, we may provide all drivers as ports. But
that will be a best effort only: if the kernel, especially the VM,
misses required features, this will not be possible.
