In the meantime I rebuilt some of my system - now
 	# Xorg -configure
will produce a /root/xorg.conf.new file (I couldn't do that 
before). When I
 	# Xorg -config  /root/xorg.conf.new
I receive an error again. At the end of my /var/log/Xorg.0.log
I find
