That worked; a silly when you found it then - well done!! I wonder how
many other problems that's been causing...
My log now before and after as evidence:
-(--) PCI:*(0 at 2:0:0) Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G400/G450 rev 0, Mem @ 0xf2000000/0, 0xfeafc000/0, 0xfe000000/0, BIOS @ 0x????????/65536
+(--) PCI:*(0 at 2:0:0) Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G400/G450 rev 130, Mem @ 0xf2000000/0, 0xfeafc000/0, 0xfe000000/0, BIOS @ 0x????????/65536
Not sure why the BIOS is all ????s (wasn't on the older Xorg):
(--) PCI:*(2:0:0) Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G400/G450 rev 130, Mem @ 0xf2000000/25, 0xfeafc000/14, 0xfe000000/23, BIOS @ 0xfeac0000/

...but it seems to be working anyway :)
Thank you!!
