 When i run this.. i get the following:
 
 $ fetch 
 ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/distfiles/apache2/powerlogo.gif
 Receiving powerlogo.gif (5279 bytes): 100%
 5279 bytes transferred in 0.0 seconds (241.39 kBps)
 
 and
 
 $ fetch 
 ftp://ftp.tw.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/local-distfiles/clement/powerlogo.gif
 Receiving powerlogo.gif (5279 bytes): 100%
 5279 bytes transferred in 0.3 seconds (17.44 kBps)
 
 So it seems to me that it actually _does_ work (the errors you get are
 suggesting that a firewall perhaps blocks access to FTP sites
 or that there were some network problems.
