--- Comment #162 from tech-lists at zyxst.net ---
Hi,

I get this error with a supermicro-based server on stable/12
(stable/12-n232694-f2a88e74470) built on 2012-02-12

My "fix" previously was to strip usb functionality from the kernel and rebuild,
which did not impact functionality for my use case.

I noticed the problem again after updating stable/12 and installing
a generic kernel:

% dmesg |grep vanished |wc -l
1129

There's nothing attached internally or externally on any usb port.

dmidecode shows:

Base Board Information
        Manufacturer: Supermicro
        Product Name: X9DRE-TF+/X9DR7-TF+

pciconf -lv |grep -i usb

   device = 'C600/X79 series chipset USB2 Enhanced Host Controller'
    subclass   = USB
    device = 'C600/X79 series chipset USB2 Enhanced Host Controller'
    subclass   = USB
    device     = 'ASM1142 USB 3.1 Host Controller'
    subclass   = USB

In the meantime, need to upgrade this hardware to stable/13
