BTW, you can easily emulate semantic of Linux's gettid() with it:

#include <sys/types.h>
#include <unistd.h>

pid_t
gettid(void)
{

	if (pthread_main_np() == 0)
		return (pthread_getthreadid_np());
	return (getpid());
}
