Why is MySQL nearly twice as fast on Linux?

I think I might have been talking about the 2cpu.com guy actually...
but the numbers you guys had were pretty high (compared to mine)
too. I just did a using 4 1000 and my numbers are much higher..
~6500 with my current configuration.

I use 30 10000 for everything because I feel it simulates a more
realistic load on the server (But I could be wrong). It takes a good
2-4 minutes between tests though.. :(
