%grep console /etc/syslog.conf
*.err;kern.warning;auth.notice;mail.crit                /dev/console
# uncomment this to log all writes to /dev/console to /var/log/console.log
#console.info                                   /var/log/console.log
%

%kenv | grep console
comconsole_speed="9600"
console="vidconsole"
%

does this makes us sure with the problem?
