Try taking "device bfe" out of your kernel and recompile. Compiling
devices

Did both methods, with kernel and took it out of kernel. Though the
module conflicts is resolved with the method you suggested, it still
crashed my Inspiron silly ... a unique (for me) crash though .. about 2
pages of alien/ASCII characters fills up my screen, then uptime: ~ 30s
is displayed
