To a first approximation, it worked for me on a 24XX:

localhost.localdomain > lsscsi
[4:0:0:0] disk SEAGATE ST314655SSUN146G 0791 /dev/sda
[4:0:1:0] disk ATA ST3500630NS G /dev/sdb
[4:0:2:0] disk ATA ST3500630NS G /dev/sdc
[4:0:3:0] disk ATA Maxtor 7Y250M0 1EW0 /dev/sdd
[4:0:4:0] disk ATA ST3500630NS G /dev/sde
[4:0:5:0] disk ATA ST3500630NS G /dev/sdf
[4:0:6:0] enclosu ESG-SHV. SCA HSBP M1..... 2.09 -
[6:0:0:0] disk FreeBSD Emulated Disk 0.1 /dev/sdg

It's entirely 23XX is broken. I'll see if I can hook one up and let you
know.
