Using a 'Y-E DATA USB-FDU 6.01' on FreeBSD -CURRENT

Hello guys,

A customer of mine bought a new Packard Bell machine without a
floppy-drive. He needs floppy-drive for some administrative tools and
his digital camera (which has a floppy slot). I bought one of those USB
floppy drives for him and decided to give it a try on my desktop at
home (running FreeBSD CURRENT), as I wondered how those things worked.

When I plug it in, umass attaches and I get a 'da0' device. It works
like I expected, but I get a lot of useless messages in my dmesg. When I
attach the device with a floppy inside the drive, I get the following
messages:

| umass0: <Y-E DATA USB Floppy Drive, class 0/0, rev 1.10/6.01, addr 2> on uhub1
| da0 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0
| da0: <Y-E DATA USB-FDU 6.01> Removable Direct Access SCSI-0 device
| da0: 20KB/s transfers
| da0: 1MB (2880 512 byte sectors: 64H 32S/T 1C)
| umass0: Unsupported UFI command 0x35
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Synchronize cache failed, status == 0x6, scsi status == 0x0
| umass0: Unsupported UFI command 0x35
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Synchronize cache failed, status == 0x6, scsi status == 0x0

I even get more of these 'Unsupported UFI command 0x35' when performing
reads. The dmesg is even more dramatic when plugging in the device
without a floppy present:

| umass0: <Y-E DATA USB Floppy Drive, class 0/0, rev 1.10/6.01, addr 2> on uhub1
| da0 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0
| da0: <Y-E DATA USB-FDU 6.01> Removable Direct Access SCSI-0 device
| da0: 20KB/s transfers
| da0: Attempt to query device size failed: NOT READY, Medium not present
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): READ CAPACITY. CDB: 25 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): CAM Status: SCSI Status Error
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): SCSI Status: Check Condition
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): NOT READY asc:3a,0
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Medium not present
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Unretryable error
| Opened disk da0 -> 6
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): READ CAPACITY. CDB: 25 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): CAM Status: SCSI Status Error
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): SCSI Status: Check Condition
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): NOT READY asc:3a,0
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Medium not present
| (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Unretryable error
| Opened disk da0 -> 6

The strange thing is that the device works. I can mount it, see the disk
contents and dismount it afterwards. It doesn't really bug me, as the
floppy drive won't be used on my box anyway, but is there some way to
patch this?

Yours,
