GCC 8.x or 9.x for FreeBSD rv64imafdc ??

I can't even get to a point where I could try to run a compile.
It boots up with whatever it came with and lands at a totally useless # 
prompt.
Have tried several forums and email contacts, to no avail - still can't 
get past the initial load it came with.
