That mdconfig command allows you to mount the .iso disc image file as if
it were a disk. But it sounds like you have burned an actual physical
DVD, which is a different situation. If you're trying to install FreeBSD
onto this machine, the procedure would be to boot from that DVD and
follow the prompts. If there's anything on this machine you want to
keep, back it up first :^)
