Installing perl, or GNU AWK, or maybe GNU grep, or pcregrep is a good
idea to do the job, but I highly doubt that replacing the system AWK
with the GNU one is a good idea, because awk is found a dozen times in
/etc/rc.d and in other places. Who knows what could happen if those two
AWKs are not completely compatible.
