APC UPS BackUPS Pro (BX1500M)

I’m using apcupsd (installed via pkg) and have it set to gracefully shutdown my machines when the battery is nearly drained.  A couple of weekends ago, we had the power go out at night and my machines shut themselves off gracefully as expected.  Of course, I had to bring them back up manually when I got up, but I would prefer this than having them go down hard on a power outage.

Your situation may vary as to what you consider the appropriate response and recovery process for your machines, but I’ve had apcupsd do what I told it and automate the low battery shutdown.
