Try installing the 'gnupg' package.

The only DM I've ever used on FBSD is x11/slim and that seemed to work okay.
Unfortunately, I can't answer for other DMs, I just use the
old .xinitrc/startx approach on pretty much everything nowadays.
If you use a lot of environments, you could write a little dialog/text
selection script in your .xinitrc, but I imagine that isn't what you are
looking for.
