/etc files

What files are those?  What do they contain? I have none with that
naming pattern on my system:

lucid-nonsense:/home/matthew:# find /etc -name '*:'
lucid-nonsense:/home/matthew:#

Doesn't mean they aren't valid, but they don't sound like typical files
you'ld find under /etc to me.
