Problems with partition editor in bsdinstall

I'm trying to install 10.0 from the FreeBSD Mall DVD on a new computer. 
  I am having trouble with the partition editor.  Whenever I try to 
create or modify a partition there doesn't seem to be any way to make 
any changes in the dialog box.

The default partitions created by the guided method are not suitable, 
since, for one thing, the swap partition is way too small.
