This is an unfortunate feature of the current release schedule, where
every odd-numbered minor release (plus the final release from each major
branch, even if it's not odd-numbered) is designated as an extended
support release. If a normal release is published less than a year
after the preceding extended release, it will expire before its
predecessor.
9.3-RELEASE, which is due very shortly, will be supported until the end
of 2016.
