Unable to create ZVOL error since upgrading to 9.3-RELEASE

I didn't get any responses to this, but, as a followup, I decided to 
upgrade that system to 10.0-RELEASE-p7 and now the problem no longer 
occurs.  So, I figure this must be something peculiar to 9.3-RELEASE.
