Actually I'm using hooks in devd(8) like:
$ cat /usr/local/etc/devd/tun6.conf
notify 0 {
match "system" "IFNET";
match "subsystem" "tun6";
match "type" "LINK_UP";
action "/usr/local/etc/devd/tun6.sh $subsystem $type";
};
$ cat /usr/local/etc/devd/tun6.sh
#!/bin/sh
#
echo `date`: $0 $* >> /tmp/devd.out
(
sleep 30 ;
echo Doing: /etc/rc.d/sendmail onerestart >> /tmp/devd.out ;
/etc/rc.d/sendmail onerestart ;
)
exit 0
for each interface which might come up; but I was thinking that
there must be a more general solution in sendmail or DNS itself;
in any case, thanks for your idea;

No. See netiquette RFC: http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1855.html
