How customized can an mfsroot be?

I don't want to go there, and don't need to. I came up with a simple way to populate /var from the original contents so I'm happy. The CD boots, clones itself onto the target system's hard drive, and then shutdown. The end result is an auto-installed BSD system ready for use.
