Sudden /libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libintl.so.8" not found, required by errors

You'd need to provide us with more details as your version #, what are you running...etc.

Try to ln -s to libintl.so.8 from other directories as well  such as /usr/libexec and /usr/local/libexec
