I have a freebsd system that freezes on reboot. The problem began
after a buildkernel/buildworld from 5.2.1 release p4 to p8.

Here are the only two lines i get in the log file related to the reboot:
Jun 10 22:30:33 adsl-68-76-19-75 reboot: rebooted by laffer1
Jun 10 22:30:33 adsl-68-76-19-75 syslogd: exiting on signal 15

Here's the uname output:
FreeBSD adsl-68-76-19-75.dsl.klmzmi.ameritech.net 5.2.1-RELEASE-p8
FreeBSD 5.2.1-RELEASE-p8 #1: Wed May 26 11:10:36 EDT 2004
laffer1 at adsl-68-76-19-75.dsl.klmzmi.ameritech.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/
LUKE i386

I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with syslogd but i do not know
what signal 15 indicates. The monitor is usually off on the machine,
and when i turn it on the screen is black. i have to power cycle it to
get it to restart.

System specs:
Amd Athelon XP 2000+ w/ 256mb PC2100 memory
Asus board with nforce2 chipset (don't remember the exact model offhand)
ACPI is disabled through sysctl because of problems.
Geforce 4mx agp video card
Dlink 530+ DFE (realtek chipset) NIC
