Sendmail mungs sender address SOLVED

Thanks to those who replied. I solved the problem by
building a new sendmail.cf file with the following
added features not found in the stock freebsd.cf:
define(`SMART_HOST',`FIRE')
FEATURE(accept_unresolvable_domains)
MASQUERADE_AS(`MYDOMAIN.COM')
and tweeking my /etc/hosts file on BASHFUL
