Welcome.

Hmmm... Does your ISP publish IPv6 data from their PPP server? It may
be that if your FreeBSD box gets assigned an IPv6 address it assumes
it should use IPv6 to do the install. However most networking kit of
the sort you'ld use at home doesn't understand IPv6 yet, so won't pass
the traffic.

Can you try the installation, and instead of using the settings PPP
gives you automatically, configure the settings manually -- use the
same data as you got from PPP (except for the IPv6 address,
obviously), or whatever your ISP recommends.

The other alternative would be to do a minimal installation from the
mini ISO image, which will get you a bare bones but working FreeBSD
system, then:

    # pkg_add -r cvsup-without-gui

and proceed to grab the system sources and the ports with cvsup. And
then spend a few days building and installing everything you ned.

Once you've got the minimal system installed you'll be able to
configure PPP to do the right thing.

	Cheers,

	Matthew
